The Marketing Manager will be responsible for all of Layar’s worldwide
marketing activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who
can guide the marketing team and gets results. This position reports to the
VP of Business Development.
JOB SPECS
As the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for all marketing aimed
at Layar’s main target groups: end users and developers. You will be
- Responsible for setting the marketing strategy: defining objectives,
tactics and tools, planning the marketing roadmap and executing this plan
together with the marketing team and outside partners as needed
- organizing online and offline marketing activities to realize the
objectives set; this involves managing both the creative aspects of this
process and making sure the activities are effective
- managing a team of marketing professionals to drive the strategy forward
and each clearly defined goals
- responsible for worldwide communication activities aimed at potential
employees and the press
- developer and guard of the Layar brand identity: the worldwide leader in
the mobile Augmented Reality space (((Okay, now imagine an interview
where you tell ‘em that you can do five of these important things, but the sixth one
is, like, not your purview.)))
PROFILE
We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager with a proven track
record in the marketing of mobile services and content - a person with a
vision on tech innovation and hands on experience with end-user application
and platform marketing. Other requirements are
- extensive knowledge in developing a marketing plan in all of its aspects:
setting goals, developing a strategy, planning of online and offline
marketing tools, executing the initiatives and managing their impact
- experience in PR and job market communications
- experience in leading a marketing team
- a hands-on mentality is a must; for example, you must know how to work
with the different mobile app stores out there; you have executed
successful AdWords programs and email campaigns; you live and breathe
Twitter and Facebook; (((especially the breathing part)))
you know how to foster engagement in our communities
by being authentic and thereby turning our millions of fans into
ambassadors
- willingness to relocate to Amsterdam (((hi Mom, I’m in Amsterdam,
breathing Twitter while transmuting fans to ambassadors)))
