Augmented Reality: Archi-Maton application

via Beyond The Beyond by Bruce Sterling on 1/20/11

*Okay, it’s not really an “application.” It’s just a concept for an application.

*In fact, what we’ve got here is (rubbing hands together) a vernacular video piece that is Augmented Reality, Design Fiction and Architecture Fiction all at once! Wow!

*Check out the nifty soundtrack here, and that gorgeous model in this video, who is glamorously kitted-out even to the point of a manicure and jewelry! All she has to do is kiss some action-hero at the end of this awesome fake demo, and we’ve got a dramatic sci-fi mini-series! “Diegetic prototypes” and all.

*State-of-the-art, folks. Via the much-followed @digitag (who, by the way, is Prof. Andrea Graziano from Pinerolo, Italia).

“The video below shows how the Archi-maton application would function: it is a loose estimation on the reality of architectural design. Certain parts of the video were programmed using processing programming language.”

(((You hear that? As a final coup, it even uses Processing.)))

(((But wait! There’s more! The august personage I carelessly described as a “gorgeous model” would appear to be Sahar Fikouhi, the creator of the video itself!)))

(((Help me out, people; I’m dyin’ here.)))
