Augmented Reality: Space Liberation Movement

via Beyond The Beyond by Bruce Sterling on 4/16/11

*There’s something adorable about artsy, radical-chic nonsense like this. I can’t help but blog it. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of it.

“space liberation [movement]

“We augment reality.

“We believe space must be a public resource, a global platform for freedom of expression. We believe each person has the right to create, augment and modify the media environment that reaches their senses.

“We draw inspiration from many sources…the Lettrists, Situationist International, and psychogeography. The open source software movement. Street artists such as Fairey, Swoon and invader, and thousands of taggers unsung. Brandjackers, adbusters, billboard liberators and alternate reality gamers.

“Our first experiment freespace takes place in ar-space, a projection of linkages from conceived space to perceived space.

“We invite those of similar views to join our movement.”
