The Seven Most Over-Used Journalistic Cliches

The Seven Most Over-Used Journalistic Cliches

An unsung hero has found an outpouring of support from concerned residents for a project in which he went through over 20,000 newspaper articles looking for the worst cliches. Here's what he found at the end of the day.

Journalist Chris Pash, who works for Dow Jones, went through their Factiva database of articles and found that these phrases were the worst examples of journalistic cliche.

  • 1. At the end of the day
  • 2. Split second
  • 3. About face
  • 4. Unsung heroes
  • 5. Outpouring of support
  • 6. Last-ditch effort
  • 7. Concerned residents

We challenge you to fit them all into one sentence.
