Leisure – This is Not a Game

I don’t do a lot of leisure reading, but I blazed through Walter John Williams’ This Is Not a Game (amazon affiliate link), a book with an adventurous plot woven around alternate reality gaming and social networking (mostly message boards). You know, there are some really poignant and interesting points in the book, it reads fast (in the action sense) and there are puzzles to consider. I never did go see if any of the details resolved to anything “real” online, a la the great works of J.C. Hutchins, who is a god in the space of weaving his stories into the web and back into a book, but I suspect Williams might have done some neato things, if you want to go digging.

Anyhow, here’s the video. It’s a great read, if you want something for your beach bag (those of us heading into Summer).
